The Coffee Life Co Gets A Revamp!

 If you've been following The Coffee Life for a while - you'll know that about a year ago I set up The Coffee Life co! 


It's taken a huge backseat on my priority list this year, through lock down and working a lot, and general struggles. However, now that we're actually starting to get some motivation for The Coffee Life and Co, I thought it was time for a re-vamp. 



NEW PACKAGING




Exfoliating Coffee Soaps have got a brand new look! 

They now come in boxes, with the care card inside (instead of floating around in your package!) as well as coming in a drawstring bag, making it easier to store.



You now also have the option to choose an individual soap instead of the pack of 2! (pack of 2's are still available!)

Very soon on The Coffee Life Co will be Coffee Oil - you may remember me doing a blog post all about Coffee Oil way back when! Having researched more, and with LOTS of experimenting (thanks to the people who have helped me test COPIOUS amounts of Oil)

Well, What a Shit Show

 Eeesh, it's certainly been a while.


2020 has been a shit-show, I'm not even going to bother trying to sugar coat it. 

I've struggled - I've not been okay - I have wanted to quit. 


So I took a break, a way longer break than I could've ever intended.

However, slowly and surely, I'm making my presence known on social media again, I'm starting to find my passion for coffee again, and I'm finally starting to want to blog again. 




Negativity is something I try to never bring to The Coffee Life - focusing on positives, focusing on good mental health, and I just haven't been able to do that recently. Hence my absence, and I apologise to people who look forward to reading my rambles about coffee. But I am also incredibly thankful to those who reached out on Instagram/Twitter and elsewhere to check up on me. I am so blessed with such an amazing community through The Coffee Life.


However, big and exciting things are coming for The Coffee Life - The Coffee Life Co products are getting a revamp - I'm going to start slowly blogging more and more. 




Although this isn't actually a blog post about coffee - it's been nice to figure out my chatty writing style again, it's been nice to sit and just type whatever my brain comes up with. Even if most of it doesn't make sense (story of my life huh) 


I'll see you soon with some coffee related blog posts.

Moments of Calm - BEDIM Day 20

The thing with caffeine, it's a very stimulating drug. 
It acts as a central nervous system stimulant, which for most people, doesn't affect them overly. 

However for people with anxiety, caffeine can exacerbate feelings of anxiousness, send your heart rate sky high, and can lead to unwanted panic attacks (trust me, been there got the t-shirt)





It's Mental Health Awareness week (if you hadn't seen already!) and mental health is something very close to my heart. I suffer with a lot of mental health issues, and so have my closest friends. 

So I decided this year I wanted to create something over on The Coffee Life Co


Introducing The Coffee Life Moments of Calm Lavender Candles. 



These are lavender scented candles and tealights, which are made to bring you a moment of calm when it's needed the most. 
If these are popular I will probably start doing tins of these as at the moment they are only available in tealight form and a few espresso cups.

The Coffee Life Zero Waste Exfoliating Soap

A goal I am working towards whilst being 21 is being better at self promotion - and it's come to my attention (not only that I'm absolutely crap at it) that I haven't even done a blog post on the soaps I've been creating and selling - so that's exactly what this blog post is about.

Something that has been in the works for just over 6 months now, are my new little project... Coffee Soaps.

It's taken me ages (and I mean it feels like forever) to perfect these little beauties, to find the right ratio of base to coffee, to find the right moulds, to find the right packaging, and to be perfectly happy with them. 
Although they're definitely not perfect, you can tell that they are made with love, and that is my main goal. I am passionate about them. 

You're probably thinking "but why soaps, you big big weirdo" and well yeah, I don't have the answer for that, it came to me one morning in October 2018, and from then on it's been a project of mine to get them off the ground (ha, excuse the coffee pun) and turn them into an actual product worth selling. 

So introducing

The Coffee Life Zero Waste Exfoliating Soap




So what's so special about the soaps? 

As a barista I know how much coffee waste just gets put into the bin everyday, and it got me thinking, people make coffee scrubs out of used coffee grounds, but is anyone making soap out of it???

On a whim I bought some crappy base and started experimenting, and to a shock, it worked! 
I started experimenting more and more, buying a more sustainable soap base that was organic, cruelty free and vegan - and 8 months later, I've got a product that I LOVE.




So what's in the soap? 

I kept it as minimalist as possible, and it only has 3 main ingredients 

- Organic Soap Base
- Coffee Grounds
- Patchouli Oil
