One Click Coffee Box 5

Boy, this blog post is a bit late huh?

Embarrassingly this box is actually the June box (please don't judge me, I know how far behind I am on blogs ok)

BUT, that's not going to stop me showing you what delicious coffee's we had from the June box, so sit tight, maybe grab a cup of coffee (it's thematic ok) and keep reading

To give you an idea on how long ago this photo was taken, I DON'T EVEN LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE ANYMORE

In this box, we had two delicious coffees - one from Taylor St and the other from Calendar Coffee

In this box was also a reusable straw from One Click x Taylor St, which has seen a lot of use, through cold brew, iced coffees and after my op, about 20 pints of the classic orange and mango squash (and it's still in tip top shape)

We'll start with Taylor Street

"Our coffee's rated in the top 2% of the coffee grown in the world. That means it's been independently assessed and awarded a quality score of 84+ based on its body, aroma, flavour, after-taste, acidity, balance and overall complexity"

Ethiopia Hambela
Producers - Hambela, Oromia, Guji
Varietal - Heirloom
Process - Washed
Quality Score - 87
Tasting Notes - Tea rose, Mint, Honey

V60 Brew

16g of Coffee
275ml of Water
40g bloom for 25 seconds
2 minute 45 second total brew time

I'll start with one word WOAH, this coffee is freaking delicious, I went through this bag probably the quickest I have a bag all year (which says something, because I have tried some amazing coffees)
It was so sweet, so syrup-y, so delicious

I also brewed this as a cold brew (because we've actually had good weather!!) brewed 50g of coffee for 12 hours, and again, woah. It came out as such a light and smooth coffee, both hot and cold.

Find Taylor Street

Moving onto the other incredible coffee

Calendar Coffee

First of all, can we appreciate the art work on this bag? Hats off to Cadi Lane for this incredible work

Vitaliano Merino
Ecuador
Region - Zamora
Roasted in Galway, Ireland
Varietal - Caturra, Typica, Mejorado
Process - Washed
Altitude - 1750masl
Tasting Notes - Cantaloupe Melon and Wild Honey

V60 Brew

16g of Coffee
275ml of Water
40g bloom for 25 seconds
2 minute 45 second total brew time

Much like with the Taylor Street coffee, this coffee from Calendar was another amazing brew, so bright and smooth with a welcomed fruity acidity
When brewed through an aeropress, (14g, my usual recipe) it definitely brought the fruiter flavours through, and I might actually of preferred it through aeropress, just because of that.

I also made some cold brew with this coffee, which was absolutely insane, it brought out the sweet honey flavours, and made it such a bright and syrupy cold brew

What did you think of the June box? (if you can even remember it since it was MONTHS ago now)

Yo, Motivation - Where You At?

Well, it's been a hot minute since I last blogged.

After blogging (mostly) everyday in May, and after having a pretty good upload schedule in July, what the heck happened?

I don't know - in all honesty - it's been a whirlwind couple of months.
My motivation for writing is no where to be seen, but I've decided that enough is enough. If I don't start writing now, when will I?

So what is there to catch up on?

We've got about 3(?) One Click boxes to catch up on
We've got 1 Untold Coffee box to catch up on
We've got 2(maybe 3??) Dog and Hat boxes to catch up on
Also a new sub box - possibly coming soon

And like I say every time - lots of other exciting things coming up.
Is there anything you want to see on the blog?

So what have I been doing these past couple of months?

JULY

- I had some pretty major surgery

If you've been following this blog for a while, you'd know that I've been having some health issues over the last year or so - thankfully it went well, and I am now completely out of the woods. (Look out for a full blog post soon)

(lil spoiler, it involved a lot of drugs, but at least my hair looked cute throughout)

I launched The Coffee Life Co store!

It was something I wanted to do for a very long time, and I thought what a better time, I was off work for a few more weeks, had all the time in the world - but boy it was a stressful week after a shocking amount of orders (THANK YOU!!!)

I went on holiday!!
Like an actual mini break away, where I didn't think about work or blogging or anything (maybe that's where I lost my motivation? Who knows)

I kayaked in the sea (it was a good idea at the time, but in hindsight kayaking in the ocean on morphine was quite irresponsible, but look HOW HAPPY I LOOK)

We went out for a lovely scenic dinner

We managed to get a nice photo - shocking

And it went downhill quite fast, turns out drinking on morphine gets you absolutely wasted.

I then went back to work - for about 2 days, and then decided to re-join my family on holiday (and almost gave both my mother and father a heart attack as I broke into their caravan awning to surprise them)

We got an actual family photo!! A nice one!!

and a acceptably frame-able photo of Kat and I

Little moo and I had a great time on the swings

and I made some banging coffee in the middle of a field - winner winner

I went to Birmingham!

I've been a bit obsessed with Ru Pauls Drag Race recently (what can I say, I had a lot of free time, and I'm very late to the game on this one)

So I ended up going to DXP#19 in Birmingham
It was INCREDIBLE

I also drank delicious coffee at Quarter Horse Coffee

Moving onto August

Went to Brighton Pride for the weekend (and didn't die!!)

Classically we took it as a road-trip opportunity - and after a two hour car journey we arrived, pitched up and prepared our livers for the weekend ahead

At least I got my new profile picture for the next year.

Turns out when drinking, I'm quite photogenic

Just looking like an absolute Ford enthusiast

Apparently I told Kat she was my best friend when drunk and now she just keeps holding that against me, so many regrets there

Found a dinosaur - classic

Safe to say that Pride fully killed us off for the next week - I still don't think I've recovered

I got a new tattoo!!

I've wanted an Umalome tattoo for a while now, and when the lovely guy suggested I swapped the top of the lotus for a coffee bean I was like HECK YES.

Last but not least

Brighton Coffee Festival!!

After going back to work for about 4 days, I headed back to Brighton for their first ever Coffee Festival - and it was everything - It was such a chill, nice festival (and yes there will be a full blogpost soon!!!)

Playing the "how sleep deprived are you" game

I don't want to share the few photos I took at the festival, I'll save them so you actually have to read my post about Brighton, but I couldn't not share the traditional selfie that Izzy and I always take at festivals

Miss you already gal

So this unintentionally turned into a little scrapbook of my life for the past few months, but I'm actually kind of living for it - throughout this post I feel like I'm slightly more motivated to write. But we'll see how long that lasts.

I'll hopefully catch you soon.

(and if there is anything you want to see on the blog in the next couple of months, let me know)
