Yawn Advent Calendar Day 5-8

It's time for an update on this years Yawn Advent Calendar

If you missed the first post from the first 4 days, you can read that here

Day 5
Costa Rica - Honey Preparation

Profile - Fruity, Apricot and Chocolate Notes
Roast - Medium

The brew
V60
1x packet (9g)
Recommended brew - 220ml water
20ml bloom, 2 minute 30 total brew time.

This was a really enjoyable coffee, super sweet, super fruity. Absolutely delicious!

Day 6
Kenya Blue Moutain

Profile - Full-bodied, Rich, Winey
Roast - Medium

Apparently I didn't take a photo of the coffee I made (I mean it was bound to happen eventually right?)

The brew
V60
1x packet (9g)
Recommended brew - 220ml water
20ml bloom, 2 minute 30 total brew time.

This was also a super enjoyable coffee, super full-bodied, but no overwhelming acidity.

Day 7
Monsooned Malabar

Profile - Smooth, Spicy, Sharp Acidity
Roast - Dark

Origin - Colombia

The brew
V60
1x packet (9g)
Recommended brew - 220ml water
20ml bloom, 2 minute 30 total brew time.

I was super excited for this one, every single Monsoon Malabar coffee I've had, has been great.
This one wasn't as expected (not to say I didn't enjoy it, it was still a great cup of coffee) it wasn't as smoky or spicy as I was hoping. It was a bit too mellow for a Monsoon coffee. However it was still very much enjoyable.

Day 8
Volcanic Mocha

Profile - Almost Sweet, Pungent Full Bodied
Roast - Light, Medium, Dark

Origin - Ethiopia, Java

The Brew
Mokka Pot
1 x 9g sachet

My at home latte art needs some work.

This came out as a super balanced and smooth espresso. It mixed well with milk, and was totally enjoyable as a latte.

Stay tuned for the next instalment of the Yawn Advent Calendar.
