Untold Coffee Box 3

It's been a long while since I have done an Untold box blog post, number 5 will actually be arriving soon, which means we have 2 boxes to catch up on!

Exciting, as number 4 will be posted very quickly after this blog post goes live.

So lets get straight into it, and begin with box number 3.

This box contained 3 coffees - one from Untold themselves and 2 from River Coffee Roasters

So without hours of me rambling, I'm just going to jump straight into them, since it's so late and no body actually wants to read about them anymore (oops)

Like boxes 1 + 2, I'm keeping the recipe pretty consistent and using the same for all 3 coffees. All using the aeropress.
16g of coffee, 245ml of water, with a final brew time of 1 minute 45, and a bloom of 30 seconds and the plunge 30 seconds.

Untold Coffee

Rebuild Woman's Hope
Region: Idjwi Island, Lake Kivu, DR Congo
Varietal: Bourbon
Process: Washed
Flavour Notes: Maple Syrup, Black Cherry

Anyone who knows me will know that I am in LOVE with any Congo coffees, it's definitely been the top of my coffee choices for most of 2018, and this one definitely didn't disappoint.
One thing I love with every Congo I have tried, they're always so true to the taste notes, meaning that it comes through consistently with tastes for pretty much everyone. I love that.
It was super sweet and syrup-y, with very subtle berry undertones, it was well rounded, so freaking smooth and all around a delicious cup.

River Coffee

Alejo Castro
Region: Central Valley Region, Costa Rica
Varietal: Caturra
Process: Washed
Flavour Notes: Apricot, Mandarin, Caramel

I actually took this coffee to work with me /
hence the lil cute jar

This coffee was super smooth and mellow, with some defining tangy citrus flavours, it was super delicious, and I had to stop myself from drinking about 6 of these. It had a super light mouthfeel with a crisp finish from the citrus notes, yum!

Endebess Estate
Region: Northern Rift Valley, Kenya
Varietal: SL28, SL34, Batain
Process: Natural
Flavour Notes: Blackcurrant Jam, Sweet Blueberry, Red Grape Acidity

(In typical Jass style, she always misses one photo, yeah hello I'm a terrible blogger, I know)

This coffee was super, super fruity, you could definitely taste the acidity in the aftertaste, but it was pretty delicious, I love me a good fruity coffee - but I'm used to fruity coffees being quite mellow, so this was a pleasant surprise that you also had the darkness and acidity coming through.

I apparently didn't get a very good picture of when the coffees arrived in the box, and normally that would be the top photo, but I feel it just looks very crap, so if you love crappy photos you're in for a treat. I'm sure if I was even some what skilled in the photoshop area I could make it look ok, but alas, we're just stuck with a very mediocre photo

Thank you for reading if you've got this far, and again, I'm sorry its almost 2 months late!
